New committee and new ways to get involved!

6 October 2018

Our AGM on 18th September saw a new committee elected - see the contacts page for details. Many thanks to both our outgoing committee members for all their hard work, and to the new committee for stepping up!

We still have a couple of vacancies to fill: Parliamentary Candidate and Fundraiser. While (in theory at least...) any General Election is a long way off, we need to have a candidate ready. Training and support will of course be available. If you think you might be interested, please do get in touch for an initial chat. The role of fundraiser is vital to keep our finances healthy so we can mount effective election campaigns. Again, if you're interested in filling this role or in organising a one-off event, please get in touch.

Even outside of election time there is plenty for local Greens to do. South Cambs District Council has a new Climate and Environment Advisory Group, which our member  John Ranken has agreed to attend as an observer. If anyone would be interested in attending full Council meetings and reporting back, please get in touch - it really would be a help.

We will continue to campaign on local issues such as the Waterbeach incinerator - see the campaigns page for the latest. Let us know if there is a local issue you think the Greens should be involved with.

Upcoming events: stall at Cottenham Village Fete on 14th October and a Christmas Social towards the end of November.
